Who's Laughing?

I think the kitten is laughing at me

If you ever meet me, the first thing you will notice is that I love to laugh. Sometimes I think that the people at Friends should have hired me as part of their “laughing” audience because I know I will have done a brilliant job. But recently, after re-reading many of my entries, I realized I have indeed lost my sense of humor. Yeap, it’s gone. Tak dak langsung. Sayonara! And I am now desperately trying to reclaim it.

I imagine my sense of humor with its little legs and hands carrying a leather brief case (and wearing a top hat), and running away to Bali. Or Brazil. But, if it did run away, why is that so?

Ask yourself: when was the last time you laughed out so hard that your perut almost burst? When???

At 4.45 pm at my work area, I actually thought about it to the point my kepala sakit. Is it possible that I am growing cynical by the day? How can I forget about something that I really enjoy? Did I leave it in the car???

I flagged this to Ms D, and she told me that I am like this because I am censoring myself. And when I informed this to Khaylis, she automatically demanded me to see her ASAP this weekend.

I hope they can help. Because I seriously, seriously need to remember how to laugh.

yep, as we get sucked deeper into this working world, some of us got our sense of humour chip off day by day. What ever happened eh?

Anyway, i din say that i didn't laugh at all. Just laugh less. The last time i laughed guling2, sampai berair mata was when we saw one ah boi anak towkey gelanggang badminton where we play twice a week. He came sauntering in with his buku 555, asking for the badminton court's rent wearing just the pyjamas pants which barely hung on his hip. Sekali pandang, macam low rider gitu. I didn't know why, but me and my friend just started laughing gila kaw kaw punya. Maybe because ah boi got stoned look on his face and he walked around kengkang, as if he got big *ehem* u know la what. hahahah

the trip between funny and cynical is very, very short... but trying to be funny? usually back fires anyway, funny is from the heart - you can't fake funny mate.

cheers.

yeah, i do think i am getting serious every year, because my job requires me to do so. i guess i need to relax and breathe, and just chill. perhaps that week i am saving end of month, i need to take another vacation to remind me how to laugh...

and hehehe...i like it when you call me mudcake. ;)

babe :

i don't want to think that lide is not funny anymore. that's just too depressing, if to think that growing up entails a non-laughing nature. perhaps i haven't seen my good friends for the longest times. perhaps this is the signal to say "hey, go chill out again."

yanz :

heheheheh...that made me smile babe. :) thanks for the joke, i totally got it the first time. ;P

yeah, i guess when you are too preoccupied with establishing dead lines, you have no time to breathe or even laugh for that matter. which is dangerous in the long term, because laughter is indeed one of the cheapest and surest way into achieving good health...

and hahahahah...thanks for sharing that funny story! that man sure got guts to wear low-rider jammies when playing badminton. huhuhu...

zed :

oooo don't get me wrong dude. i am not in the search to regain my funniness (cause i don't have that in the first place). i am in the search my sense of humor and the ability to laugh like a baboon again. you know how?

pesa :

yeah, i hope the dry spell will be a short one. but pal, i am worried, because laughter is such an integral part of my character. to lose it is like losing an arm...

I laugh like a Hyena, which is spooky a night. But funny thing is I can only make myself laugh, not other people. Which I don't know is good or not.

Gotta move, I see people in white uniform.

hahaha...no man, i just need to remember how to laugh again. and pal, since when was i funny in the first place? are you telling me you see me as a clown??? huhuhu...

shell :

thanks babe, the advice is a sound one. i haven't seen my best buds and the usual suspects for the longest time, so perhaps this is the reason why there is a drought in the laughing departmant...

kepala angin :

that's right, you were the living proof of gol and gincu! ;) glad to hear that some of us can still remember how to laugh our pancreas off...huhuhu...

Huh?
U dont need to have a sense of humor to laugh. U need to listen to good humor. Not make one.

chocolicious :

i guess that's one of the reasons i haven't been laughing so heartedly. i haven't been chilling with my close, crazy friends: our hectic schedules are to blame.

sniff sniff, kind of my annoying buddies...huhuhu

and yeah, your picture of dripping chocolate is damn sexy lah. :P

Inn :

thanks for believing that i have still an ounce of good sence of humour! You always make my day! :) :) :)

and laughing loudly on first dates is always a plus point and a major turn on for me. ;)

foxybabe :

i agree that listening to good humour does make you laugh. but, in its core essence, i believe you need to also have a good sense of humour in you to begin with. only then you can see and accept the world of its flaws with great humour.

mamijarum :

exactly, that's my point!!! perhaps the reason why we are like this is because we are no longer care free. not sure about you but as for me, trying to be professional at work by minimising your sense of humor and capitalising on logic has damaged my funny nature.

i think i need to find that balance. quick. but yeah, when i laugh like a donkey again (which i dearly miss), you will be among the first to know. ;)
