Hazy Solution

Sumatra's gift stinks

According to the NST, the government is devising an action plan the moment when the API readings reaches 500.

I am amused.

What will this action plan involve? Do we run to the hills? Kill our new born? Lock ourselves in our houses until October???

So, open burning is banned. Schools are closed "temporarily". I am predicting that businesses and government offices will be shut down soon. But then again, my crystal ball is damn hazy too.

And bomohs!!! Apa lagi??? This is the time to do your hocus pocus to bring rain, and to call on the winds to swish the haze back to Sumatra.

Mother Nature, you're such a bitch. There goes my weekend plans. There goes my lungs. There goes our economy. As Ms D puts it, to the aliens.

And the neighbors that offered us gifts :

A forestry ministry spokesman, Masyud, said the Indonesian government did not yet plan to impose penalties for land-clearing but "actively continues to urge people to stop the habit". - Aug 12, BERNAMA

Aiyoooooooo!!! Mental ke diaorang nih???

This had happened before parallel with the 97 crisis. We have to use the uncomfortable mask to go out, sekolah cuti.. but yet, we never learnt eh.

*save the trees..!*

It's because open fire in Sumatera lah.. Nothing to do with Malaysia. Instead of doing something, why not sue the Indon Govt instead? Quite fatal for people with breathing disabilities; ASTHMA.

I am fit and healthy. Lucky that.

*nampak sangat aku takde keja. bosannye*

what's frustrating is that its an annual thing. so much talk has been involved about preventing it, but to my dismay, tak dak pun results.

i don't want to point fingers, but seriously, its like our neighbors tak kisah sangat. i mean, haven't those companies/org/individuals involved with open burning been penalized/jailed/castrated??? because seriously lah, haze is poison.

as much as I love indonesian culture and the friends there, i seriously have an adverse liking for their regulators. and i think that they won't take "sue" seriously...

BBC reported that we already declared state of emergency. Pelik betul. Some say its the fire in Sumatra. But some party say Malaysian palm oil businesses in Jakarta do that. I am starting to wonder who is telling the thruth.

Anyway, Malaysia is offering to put off the fire in Sumatra and apparantly talks are still going on. How long? Till someone in PMO collapes?

i think there's also open burning here in malaysia, namely in klang valley, and to be more specific around puchong area. acrid smell of smoke wouldn't travel over the seas now, would it?

The last haze was also caused by Sumatera Forest Fire.
Yela.. It's their fault. But.. so what? Why do we always need to be the victim?
It has been 8 years... takkan la takde idea nak buat apa lagi?

My "gucci bag" can already play piano in 8 years..!

KA :: datang sini lah..

*let all hold hands and join green peace*

aiyooo betul ke msian companies are the ones burning di sumatra??? if so, they seriously need to be shot.

yeah, i so loved our neighbors response, that they are "urging" burners to stop. aiyoooo...

i heard that there are some people who used the haze for their advantage, so started open burning. who are these retards???

han :

i think it was in the nst where they showed a picture where the firemen trying to put the peat fires out. the funny thing was that the hose was trickling water. i mean, when i wash the car, the water is more power than what the indon firemen were carrying.

then they give accuses saying that putting out fire is hard. haiyaaaa...

vlad :

Muahahah...you and your alcohol. i think its one of the things you don't need to quit due to the haze...hehehehe...

mere scribbler :

hey, thanks for dropping by! :) really like your blog. anyway, you're right. it ain't mother nature. she's really nice actually. she accepted my apology, and now we're dating. (it could be serious, you know...heheh)

zetty :

i know. its an annual affair, and each time, it gets worst. the thing is our neighbor does not see the initiative to preven this because it is the cheapest way of clearing land and sustaining their palm oil industry.

conspiracy theorists also say that the burners are from msian companies. if so, that's simply embarrassing...

elly :

yeah, their sorry is a tad empty and a tad too late, don't you think? i think they should allow msians go visit bali for free. hehehe...

muffin top :

thanks for dropping by! :) and sad to say, you're right. about 8 out of ten of the companies penalised for open burning are msian! so its kind of shameful to know about this: that we are the ones polluting.

but then again, 8 bad apples don't really represent 21.9 million ones, right? ;)

aeyya :

its cleared up! cause tiba tiba banyak wind. i seriously think the bomohs are at work. so no worries k babe? see you so soon!!!

kobis :

you're still at home? aiyooo hopefully you will recover soon. wear them shades, it will help! ;P

and dude, dig your blog. very lurve doctor. heheheh...
