Cats & Kids

Here kitty kitty kitty

It was one of those weekends where I didn't want to do anything. I wanted to be lazy. A bloody sloth. I guess when you are highly productive (in terms of work that is) during the whole week, you just burn out to settle for no-brainer tasks during the weekend. Correction. No-brainer nothing. In addition to that, I was struggling to breathe, because a slight flu + sinus = a breathing disaster. According to my nose specialist, he said that my nose was slightly crooked to the left, so that it hits my sinus passage way, causing friction and bleeding if I blow my nose too hard. He recommended that I do a nose job. Erk???

Anyway, despite being lazy to do anything, I managed to move my body to meet a very close bud of mine, who was to leave to Bangkok for work. (Yeah right!) After a brief shopping stint at OU, we rushed back to his place, because he wanted to watch Marsha sing at the AF3 concert. I swear to God...

After the concert was over, we lepaked at a mamak close by.

"You know what?" he asked.

What.

"As a single thirty-something, I am pretty happy with my life. I treat myself well. I can afford anything I want. I can travel whenever I please. But all this is difficult at my company."

What do you mean?

"Everyone is married at my company," he said, while raising his left eyebrow. "And you know how it is. They always have this sorry look for me."

Ah, who cares.

"You know I love Jengga right?" he asked, referring to his beloved orange cat. "He's like a child to me. I even have Jengga's picture as the wallpaper for my work computer, while everyone have pictures of their family. And guess what?"

What.

"Boleh tak some of my colleagues would say, 'Oh, kucing tu hidup lagi ke?' I am like what the fuck. Imagine if I would respond with, 'Oh, anak anak hidup lagi ke?'"

I nodded, agreeing to every word.

Mudster..
I came across a single lady in Berlin. She has a photo of her cat in her wallet. She says if she goes outstation, she will cry every night thinking of the cat.
Do I think it's weird? No.. Back in Msia, I talked to my cats too.

i loved talking to my late hamsters : dexter and mr jingle. they died separately. but i loved talking to them, playing with them, listening to them running in their wheel late at night, scrunching the sunflower seeds noisily.

my point is: we all love our pets la. and who the F cares about singledom/ coupledom anyway? ask 'em anals to go F themselves hahaha.

Good to see ppl are still sensitive to others. What a nice thing to say to him.

Maybe your friend can suggest to his colleagues that they should get their daughters fixed so no accidents happen or if it's too late for that, drop the baby off at the nearest SPCA.

I think we should get married at about 30 to 32... ladies maybe sooner. Just my thoughts ok....

Guess we have to be sensitive to others, but then again, sometime we have to understand that all people think like we do.... Maybe we can learn to forgive others....

one of the guys i know love cats more than human. He said pets love you unconditionally.

anyway, marriage and kids are not as highly valued as most ppl think. else the divorce and child abuse rate would not be so prevalent.

Im 30, single and love my twinkle to the max. If everything else fails, i'll adopt a baby. So when i go for my rounds for shopping etc and someone ask with "where is the mum" question, i will say "She is in my heart".

Chick arse :

Yeah, its true. I realised that my female friends tend to panic when they pass the 25 mark, unmarried. Because "everybody is married", they put pressure to themselves to jump into the bandwagon, hunt down a mate and get hitched. If its love based, good. If its purely for security, then I think maybe not.

Three of my female friends who got married after grad are now divorced. For me, that says alot...

thinktangal :

Happy Monday to you too (although I am more happier its a Tuesday. LOL!) Yeah, he's a cool chap. And his love for his Jengga is truly remarkable. In his most previous relationship, his girlfriend told him that if he was to live with her, my friend would have to say goodbye to Jengga. For my friend, that was ludacris because he knew Jengga longer than he did his girlfriend...

Foxybabe :

Hey babe, how are you? :) Yeah, cats do have shorter life span than humans do. But I believe that people should not make insensitive comments like that, agreed? Kesian Jengga, he doesn't mean anybody any harm. Huhuhuu...

Shell :

Yeah, although I never had a pet cat before, I realised how easy one can be attached to them. They have their own personalities, and quite independent too. And they respond to your emotions. I think this is the ultimate reason why people love them so much...

Wow, you can talk in Catspeak? I'm impressed!!! ;P

wingnut/chickquita :

Yeah, those anals. Muahahaha...so gross, so gross! ;P

Anyway, what a stupid comment lah my friend's colleagues make. Damn insensitive...

Inn :

Your just like my Pa!!! Heheheh...one time I caught my Pa saying, "Cepat lah grow! I know you can do it!" to this cute shrub in the garden. I was laughing across the floor soon after. hehehe...

But it's true. Research shows that by talking to plants, they tend to be healthier and grow faster. I guess plants too have emotions. :)

vlad :

hehehehe...dude, its cool. I always talk to my car. I believe that my Waja (and my old Volvo) have feelings. hehehe...whenever they make problems, I always ask them, "What did I do? Is it me? Why are you doing this to me?" hehehe...the girls I dated thought I was going insane. Muahahaha...

zetty :

Heheheh...if my friend hears this, bet his hidung will kembang kembang one! Muahaha...;P

Muahahahahah!!! That's an awesome (and quite demeaning) comeback dude!!! Sharp tongue you got there.

Anyway, I agree that having a wife and kids is a formidable thing to accomplish. I aim to do the same thing too. But people with families must understand that some singles have different priorities. They (and all of us) must be open-minded enough to see this...

dade ghost :

One of the reasons why I feel that you should try to marry early is because of the kids situation. I feel that when you are younger, you have the energy to cope with kids growth and multiple tantrums. But if you don't see yourself having kids, marrying at any age is acceptable by me.

kepala angin :

That's the tricky thing about divorce these days. It's something really common, which has its pros and cons.

Pro : I think that divorce can be considered a good thing, especially if one no longer feels that love truly exists in the marriage. Separating because of abuse, neglect is also understandable. It's a semi-ticket to a fresh start in life.

Cons : That divorce involving kids can be tricky. And devastating.

All I can say is, if divorce happens, it happens. There should not be any judgement made, because it is indeed their choice of life.

Zakzak/Chickarse :

yeah, sorry, i don't know myself. but agreed, its never too late to tie the knot. marriage should be based on love, respect and understanding; not time.

Jules :

Hey Jules, thanks for dropping by! :) Huhuhuhu...yeah, kitties are simply adorable. And provide really high amounts of attention and care. :))

Madnessinvain :

Twinkle? heheheh...comel lah dude! Muahahahaha...and by the way, just wondering, where exactly are you now? I have this perception that you don't really have a home base; to me, you're like a constant traveller, which i think is damn cool.

The Babe :

Muahahahahaha!!! Kantoi!!! Yeah, I think she's got the looks. But sorry to say, she's not really a great performer lah. I think she should try acting instead, cause she can pull the whole dewy-actress look. hehehe...

Kaisersoze aka Sifu :

Hey Sifu!!! How are you? How did the exams go? Bet you did fine. Kacang right? hehehehe...

yeah, why do people put an expiration date to marriage? it's not milk! Hehehe...but our society do regard it a bomb, ticking every year passed unmarried. Oh well...

I have a cat named Ayang who loves sleeping on my bed and a PC named dindow who have been with me thru thick and thin since 1998. It made me happier with all the silly PC games that I could play. Heck, it even helped me get my degree. haha. Got me new friends thru net and ah, cyberlove. I love you dindow.

haha aiyoo.. diorang ni jeles nih. i love cats (i have 15 of them), i love kids (i know mine's gonna be darn cute just like the mom), I'm 25 this 17th, i've been in my current relationship for close to 7 years and i have no plans to settle down yet. and i am happy as a clam. its a social stigma if you get married late, and we can't do a damn thing about it. if every parents are as cool about marriage as my mom (she repeatedly told my single 27 year old sister tak kawin tak mati laaaaaa) then maybe things would change a bit but unfortunately most of us are brought up thinking its bad to get hitched late.

yesterday i bumped into an old friend at a birthday party. first question he posed was "ngko bila nak kawin?". imbecile. "apasal pulak?" "yer ah dah lama sangat takkan tak kawin2 lagi?"

"suka ati aku la bila2 pun nak kawin. yang ko susah tu kenapa? ko nak tolong bayar hantaran 17k aku nanti ke?"

rindu kat i yeh muddy hehe. check your friendster inbox lah. perhaps you're gonna find a nice surprise there hehe

Chi :

You got 15 cats? Wow!!! How do you manage? For some reason, I think you gonna be a great mom. ;P And boy, aren't you an expensive bride? Kesianlah your bf. Hehehehe...

And yeah, I was pleasantly surprised. ;)

Beachbabe :

You too huh? No, don't lah kill the society. Tengok tengok your future husband might be in there. Muahahaha...just kidding babe. ;P

i think it doesn't matter whether you are married or single, as long as you are happy with your life...

and don't ever get married to satisfy other people, coz in the end you'll be the one experiencing the marriage, not them.. heheh
